Let's Be Treasonable!

Jul 22, 2018

More than 35 years ago, The Clash released their classic fourth album 'Sandinista!' named for Nicaragua's Democratic Socialist party that spent the majority of their initial stretch in power fighting a U.S. backed militia that was partially funded by our government with the proceeds of illegal gun sales to Iran. After a 17 year hiatus the Sandinistas returned to power, but like the Creed family cat coming back from the Pet Sematary, they ain't quite right. Ayuh. On a Very Special Episode of 'Let's Be Treasonable,' Cognitive Dissidents Cat Alvarado, 'The Black Voice of Reason' Tymon Shipp, and Dr. David Robinson talk to Nicaraguan citizen "Carlos" about the populist party that devolved from representing the downtrodden to trodding on the underrepresented. Sound familiar? Frighteningly so.

In lighter news, we learn that Donald Trump would kick Vladimir Putin out of bed for eating crackers... (or did we learn that he wouldn't?) and Cat explains how everything you need to know about the Russian Collusion Scandal was foretold in 'Mean Girls.' All that, an updated address for #SpatulasForManafort, and a 'Burst of Durst from five-time Emmy nominee Will Durst, and you've got yourself a heapin' helpin' of a dose of newsy infotainment! Get dosed!
